Wells Rural Electric Company (WREC) is building a list of Grassroots advocates – members who will e-mail, write, or call their elected representatives at times when critical decisions are being made about electric cooperatives. Your support will help us fight for affordable electric rates and the right of cooperatives to continue to be self-governing.

Your Board of Directors and staff work diligently to ensure that your access to reliable and affordable electricity is protected in the legislature and regulatory agencies. From time to time, we may need your help to demonstrate just how important an issue is to your company.

As a Grassroots advocate, you may be asked to contact your elected representatives. Of course a personal letter is the most effective but we understand that your time is limited. Sometimes the need to get a point across is also very urgent so emails and telephone calls will be best. In either case, we will only ask for your assistance when it is absolutely necessary and we will provide background information, recommend action and provide the appropriate contact information.
