City of Carlin COVID-19 Updates
March 24 statement from the City of Carlin:
The City of Carlin is continuing to monitor the progression of COVID-19, and the City would like to assure everyone that all services are being provided as normal. While this is a serious public health threat, the immediate risk to the Elko County area is very low.
While all City buildings are now closed to the public, there will be no interruption in service at this time.
The Open-Door Senior Center has closed their dining room, but has transitioned to providing homebound meals for our senior population. If you are a senior citizen and would like a homebound meal, please call 775-754-6465.
The City of Carlin Administration Building is closed to the public, but staff will continue normal operations via email or telephone in order to provide the highest level of service to the citizens of Carlin. We ask that you take advantage of our online bill pay, and utilize the drop box located at 151 S. 8th Street for cash, check, and money order payments. If you need to make a payment via credit card or need assistance, please call 775-754-6354.
The Public Works office is closed to the public, but there is no threat or need for concern for water quality or availability related to COVID-19. Our Public Works Department is providing the same level of service that you would receive at any other time. If you need assistance from Public Works or the Building Department, please call 775-754-6515. As a reminder, wipes clog pipes. With the current shortage of toilet paper in this unprecedented time, please refrain from flushing baby wipes and personal wipes into the sewage system. Wipes cause sewer backups, so please avoid a sewer overflow in your home by throwing all wipes in the trash.
The Carlin Police Department office is closed to the public. If you need to make a report or speak to an officer, please call the non-emergency dispatch number at 775-777-7300. You can call the Carlin Police Department business office at 775-754-2222 for other business. If you have an emergency, please call 9-1-1.
The Carlin Municipal Court office is closed to the public. If you need assistance, please call the Carlin Justice/Municipal Court at 775-754-6321 during business hours and someone will be available to help you. Services are still available at this time.
The Carlin Fire Department office is closed to the public. If you need immediate medical assistance, please call 9-1-1. To protect our first responders from exposure, please refrain from visiting City offices, including the Fire Department.
The City of Carlin will continue to take the necessary steps to help slow the spread and potential impact of COVID-19. We understand that this is a trying time for many of you. Please take a moment to check in on your neighbors, friends, and family. The City of Carlin will continue to evaluate the status of COVID-19 and make appropriate decisions in light of the severity of the situation.
