Wells Rural Electric Co. is proud to belong to the communities we serve.

Aside from working to efficiently deliver affordable, reliable and safe energy, we are committed to making life better for our members and investing in our communities’ most important resource: young people.

Youth development is part of the fabric of our cooperative, whether through awarding grants or investing in projects through the Next Dollar Foundation, raising money and support during our community rallies, sponsoring our annual WREC Classic Basketball Tournament or simply our
employees devoting time to coach and mentor young people.

One of our favorite youth events every summer is taking seniors-to-be from all over our service territory to participate in youth leadership camps
in Idaho and Utah.

These camps help students grow individually by developing their relationship and leadership skills. Students are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones and meet new people, listen to inspiring messages and lessons from world-class speakers, and participate in both personal and team challenges throughout the week. Camps are a whole lot of fun—especially if you enjoy things like massive water fights, hanging out at water parks and ropes courses, and making lifelong friends.

We get unbelievable feedback from the students who participate each year. For many, their week at youth camp is a life-changing experience.

Applications go out every spring. If you know an eligible student, or are one yourself, don’t miss out on the fun.
