YES Camp? Yes, Please

As part of Wells Rural Electric’s Commitment to Community, each summer local students participate in cooperative-operated leadership camps where they learn from renowned speakers, meet lifelong friends and engage in fun activities, such as water fights and ropes courses. Camps are open to high-school juniors in WREC’s service territory or whose parents or guardians are WREC members. Fill out an application at the Yes Camp page.

“YES Camp showed me what type of leader I want to be. The speakers made a huge impact on me, and the camp reminded me that my co-op doesn’t just provide electricity to my town; it helps create leaders by allowing us to go to things such as YES Camp and the Washington Youth Tour. I am extremely excited to know I am going back next year so I can help next year’s campers get the same experience.”

“Idaho YES Camp was awesome! We had great motivational speakers, and I learned so much and made many new friends. I learned about the dangers of texting and driving, how to protect yourself from the dangers of social media and that my city is powered by hydroelectric power. ”

“YES Camp was an unforgettable experience. It allowed me to live on a college campus for a short time and meet a bunch of new peers who are very outgoing and motivated to do something great with their lives. The speakers taught me different things about leadership and self-confidence and helped me realize the man I want to become. I have been trying to pursue a greater version of myself, and YES Camp helped me pursue that dream.”

“YES Camp is an absolute blast. You learn so much important information that you can take with you throughout the rest of your life and especially your senior year. My second year I returned as a youth director, which was probably one of the best things I did all summer. YES Camp is a week full of knowledge and fun, and you meet so many new people who you have a chance of being lifelong friends with.”
